Work is utterly boring. This has got to be the most dead time of the year. Why, you ask? Well, let's consider who's around: faculty and staff, some graduate students (probably a majority), and a smattering of undergraduates, which includes all in-season athletes. Suffice it to say, not much business. But yesterday and today, I did get to pull a lot of gangsta rap off the shelves. That was gratifying. (Fear not, I left a couple of copies of "Monster Booty" out there.)
It turns out Jacob was right about the mail - the Postal Service did give up. After a couple of days, the mailbox got full, they stopped delivery. Now service is restored and all is well again. Except for the three-cent rate increase they want to push on us, according to Headline News.
I hope people start getting back soon - the solitude does have some disadvantages.
