Thu 12 Feb: Movin' Out. It's a musical based on the songs of Billy Joel. And it was a lot better than I thought it would be. I expected a standard pit orchestra to try to render Joel's great hits, but I was pleasantly surprised by the actual rock band, which did great justice to the songs. And the lack of dialogue was also a plus - I could simply focus on the high energy the dancers brought to the stage.

Fri 13 Feb: Miracle. I broke down and saw it at full price. Amazing movie. The way the hockey scenes are filmed was excellent. Kurt Russell gave a passionate performance as Herb Brooks. Well worth the money.

Today just sucked all around. Aside from leaving home, there was plenty else to go awry. The plane took off forty-five minutes late, thanks to a "paperwork problem," according to the pilot. Thanks to the weather system below us, there was serious turbulence most of the way to Charleston. This made me very, very queasy. Upon touchdown I was amazed that I didn't lose my lunch (and I had the barf bag ready on several occasions). When I got back to NNPTC and checked in from leave, I discovered that I still don't have a security clearance. So while nearly all my NFAS classmates will start Nuclear Power School this Thursday, I won't, unless something comes through last-minute. But I'm not holding my breath for it.

At least I don't have to work tomorrow due to the holiday. Small consolation.
