home gets its revenge, of sorts

According to The Weather Channel at 7:00 this morning it was actually colder in Charleston than on Long Island. That's a first since I've been here. I'm glad that stopped quickly. :-)

So Todd Bertuzzi's going to sit out the rest of the season (and maybe some of next season) after breaking Steve Moore's neck (if you haven't seen the act in question, there's a video link here, down the right side). He totally deserves it. That was simply vicious.

Elsewhere in sports, St. Joesph's basketball team finally lost a game, getting drubbed by Xavier in the Atlantic 10+2 * quarterfinals. Championship Week is a fun time, because of all the speculation about who is in or out of the NCAA bracket. Though I'm not really a huge college basketball fan, this is always a fun time. Since I have duty Sunday night, I'll have to wait until Monday to make my (sure to be flawed) picks, or build the bracket I think should be used.

* The Atlantic 10 actually has 12 teams - hence my addition above to its name.
