If...

If Miles Austin doesn't "lose it in the lights" on third and four...
If Jason Pierre-Paul doesn't block Dan Bailey as time expires...
If Kyle Wilson or Antonio Cromartie tackles Victor Cruz...
If that punt doesn't bump off Kyle Williams' knee...
If the side judge doesn't rule Ahmad Bradshaw's forward progress had been stopped...
If Kyle Williams doesn't fumble the punt in overtime...
If Steve Weatherford doesn't get the snap down...
If Wes Welker catches that deep ball...
If the Patriots don't let Bradshaw into the end zone...
If Rob Gronkowski stretches a little more on the final play...

we're not here celebrating another World Championship. Skill and execution were never in short supply. But you don't win a Super Bowl without breaks, and in the last quarter of the season and the playoffs, they all broke for the blue. Special congratulations to Kevin Boothe, Cornell '06, despite a couple of penalties. Can we just fast forward to the evening of September 6?
