Work is...well, pretty good, considering I'm doing less and still getting paid. Always a good thing.

I was supposed to have my monthly meeting with my Navy recruiter this Monday, but they were installing some new computers or something at the office. No big deal. Probably a good thing, since, in my typical fashion, I haven't studied the recruit handbook all that much.

So the cheapest I can find gas around here is $1.68 (really $1.679). Since I put regular in my car, and all 87 octane gasoline is essentially the same, the only thing I'm loyal to is the lowest price. This morning I saw a station selling its cheapest blend for $1.86! I wonder to myself, "How does that place stay in business?" And I also wonder when the situations in Venezuela and Iraq will be resolved, because the world needs more oil supply to bring the price down.

WVBR is doing four live women's sports broadcasts (three basketball, one hockey) over the next four weeks. I must commend Smacky on his directorship - I'm very surprised that he convinced the program director to allow sports on Fridays at 7:00 (when the PD had previously said she was adamantly opposed to any disruption in weekday programming). I don't like to admit this, but the Sports Department is probably doing better under him than it would have if I had stayed on.
