I finally managed to check on the status of my security clearance yesterday morning. It turns out that the command's security staff knows exactly as much about it as I do, which is to say nothing. Not the news I was hoping for, because it means all I can do is wait.

It was nice to be able to watch the first game of Cornell's ECAC quarterfinal series against Clarkson, instead of being only able to listen. (The option to watch home games on netcast did exist, but at $5 a pop, I chose not to exercise it.) The Big Red looked really good, as would be expected of a team playing on two weeks' rest. One more win sends Cornell to the championship weekend for the fifth straight year.

I got a call from Steve Pidd late last night. Steve's a friend of mine from high school who enlisted in the Navy nearly a year before I did. What's funny is despite his greater length of service, I outrank him (for the time being - he said his chances for advancement this time around are very good). It's good to be a nuke.
