Yeah, I'm here in the armpit of the free world, Southampton College, for the Northport marching band's Summer Music Clinic. This is, without doubt, the easiest job I've ever held. Yes, even easier than Northport Video. We're safely into the second day, without any major catastrophes. It's been good to hook up with all my friends from high school and reminisce about old times. And it's just as much fun to lay the smack down on these guys.
Last night was a surprisingly easy night, without much trouble for us chaperones. However, I, like many of the others, have a feeling that it's going to be worse tonight. Fortunately, I don't have to do any work until 3:00 tomorrow, so I can sleep in all day if I choose to do so.
My mom found a megaphone on Saturday - the kind with all the songs on it. I brought it out here. Mrs. Rush, our band director, has warned me not to let it slip into the hands of the little ones. This is definitely good advice.
Well, I think it's back to the dorm now. If you could call it a dorm - these facilities make the ones at Cornell look like the Plaza Hotel. But anyway, I need more sleep before I go back to work again at 7:30. Until next time...
