I previously mentioned my trip to Groton last Saturday to bring Dave to his PenisMobile (a silver Nissan 350Z; the nickname is his own term). During the trip down, and during lunch on Sunday, he said he was considering getting rid of it, having had it for 4½ years - an unconscionably long time for him. Sure enough, Tuesday night, my roommate tells me that Dave has purchased a BMW. I drove those five hours for nothing?

I went out last night, chilling out on the deck at the Portsmouth Gas Light Co. This is the second time I've been out in downtown Portsmouth, and from what I've seen so far, I really like this town, despite the absurdly early 1 a.m. last call. Two other things of note from last night: for one, the Samuel Adams Summer Ale I was drinking was flavored with lemon juice. I don't know if that's a standard practice for this beer (like serving Corona with a lime), but if the intended effect was to reduce the rate of consumption, it was certainly working in my case. The other thing I noticed as I was waiting to enter: a sign indicating that the band wold conclude its performance by 11 p.m. Contrast this against New York, where - at least at the places I frequent - the featured band doesn't even take the stage until after 11 p.m.

Today has been a movie marathon...Accepted, Ocean's Eleven, Star Trek: First Contact, and I've just started Miracle. As for the consumption...well, I've decided to stay home tonight, so you can draw your own conclusions from that.
